We arrived in Osaka late on Wedesday night. Making our way to the city center from the airport, we explored the Dōtonbori market street until the early morning. We visited Shitennō-ji temple, and the retro-future Shinsekai area, visited a Shibe café, and sampled some excellent post-curfew coffee at LiLo Coffee Roasters, before a nightcap at CraftBeerWorks Kamikaze. We departed, making our way to Kyoto by Shinkansen.
A brief Shinkansen ride later, we arrived in Kyoto. We explored the Nishiki markets, trying Melonpan with ice cream. We explored the local temples and shrines, and by night, the famous Pontocho alley. We also visited Gion, stunning Arashiyama scenery, Fushimi Inari Taisha, and Nara Park.
Finally, we returned to Tokyo. For the last leg of our trip, we revisited some favourite spots from our 2018 trip—including some of our favourite food spots in Harajuku, Savoy in Roppongi, Maisen in Shibuya, and DevilCraft in Gotanda. We also took a snow trip to Yuzawa, explored Odaiba, and thoroughly explored all Akihabara had to offer.
